Back to New England

Last week we headed back to New England to visit family and friends. We started off by heading to Falmouth, ME to visit my grandparents who are now in an assisted living up there. After that we drove down to the Cape for my mom's 60th birthday party. Sarah's second cousins, Rohan and Vrinda, came down for the party as well. We spent the morning of the party enjoying the beach and letting the kids swim. Although the water was a bit chilly, we got used to it after a little while. The rest of the week we spent relaxing. We went on a Duck Tour of Hyannis, visited my friends Pup and Joann, and then my college friends, Chom and Elina. It was a fun trip and we did not want to come back to the hot weather of Richmond.

After several weeks of practicing while holding someones hand and the occasional few steps, Sarah has finally decided to try walking on her own. Apparently, she does it more at daycare and still waits for you to help her at night by holding her hand. She's talking more and has a few words down like dog, momma, dadda, hi, and bye. Every day we are so thankful to have such a healthy and happy child.

I'm a movie star lounging at the beach. Is this my best side? Can I go topless here?

Beating the Heat

The weather is heating up in Richmond. It's to be expected this time of year, although Wednesday they are predicting record highs with heat indices around 105. "Aunt" Julie was nice enough to send Sarah a sensory table for her birthday, so we could help her cool down in the heat. We filled it up with water and let her play. We knew she would like it since she is always attracted to the dog's water bowl. If she's left unattended, we seem to wind up with a very wet child and floor. After playing, Sarah tried to help Greg in the office by cleaning out the pen jar and helping him look for Netflix movies on the internet. We're looking forward to heading up north to MA for to cool off next week.

I love splashing in the water!

Mommy come join me. It's fun.

I want to take all the pens out of the jar. Don't worry, I'll put them back.

Can we can get that movie on Netflix?
